My Worldview There Is a God, All You Have to Do to See...

Some of the biggest questions can be tied together. Why are we here? What is the meaning of life? Does God exist? Numerous amounts of people ask these questions, every day, every second. Though it can be a bit hard to find the answers, especially when people have different opinions on topics. But there is one place in where people can take comfort and read when they have the huge questions. These all can be answered by reading the Bible. My worldview has also been altered by this course. Although it is not completely the same as what I have been taught, it has changed some. Many people want to know what God is like. One of his characteristics is that he is the supreme ruler, who created everyone and everything in this world (Psalm 97). This is the Christian worldview of God. He is three persons: God, the Son, and the Holy Spirit (Houdmann). He is also just, merciful, and loving towards all his creatures. Because he is all these things, God has given us humans, his creation, free will. With this free will, comes decisions that can either make us good or evil. Depending on if someone was good in life, he will go to heaven, or if he was evil, he will go to hell (Ezekiel 18). Now with the free will, humans decide what they want to do, and it is in their nature to be selfish. Dove Pro-Age Campaign - 1257 Words

In a typical commercial about beauty products, you would only see slim, sexy, young models demonstrating a product and depicted as beautiful. The Dove Pro-Age Campaign is different and shocking to the eyes of US media that it was banned in the US because it showed too much skin. Or is it because of the American media thinking that it would affect the other beauty products being advertised since it didn’t portray the norm of the American beauty? That is what I think. The product line of Dove Pro-Age is being advertised in the commercial. It is also advertising the product as an anti-aging product gearing towards the elder target market. The salient features are the nude women who are presented in the ad and the text â€Å"too old to be†¦show more content†¦But, that is why they are promoting a product line that isn’t about anti-aging, but pro-aging, which is about natural beauty and as you age older, you are still beautiful. Perceptual interpretation is an important issue in this commercial. This is the main reason why it was not aired in the US, but in other markets across the world. This Dove Pro-Age campaign was aiming to change the perception of the way women viewed themselves. Many women, these days adhere to surgery or Botox to make them be perceivably better looking than their natural look. The message she is putting across is made obvious through her use of scuba diving gear and the title of the work. She wants people to think about the polar bears and the environment she cares so much about and she achieves this through simplicity and easy understanding. The overall meaning of this artwork is that the polar bears are struggling, to find food sources, to adapt to new climate and that we aren’t helping, in fact we are making it worse. Answer: Introduction: The purpose of this report is to analyse communication skills and the ways by which an individual can improve communication with others. The communication skills required for business and for interpersonal interaction are analysed in the report. Communication tools required for developing communication tool is also analysed in the report. The report reflects interpersonal communication of the researcher based on solving questionnaires. In this regard, five diagnostic communication tools are analysed in order to understand the effectiveness of the communication. In order to analyse my communication level, I have used five diagnostic tools. According to Shwom Snyder, (2015), the communication tools help one to understand the level of communication that exists among an individual. Questionnaires are solved in order to understand the personality of the people while communicating with one another. These five tools include Johari window, assertive communication technique, interactive psychological communication test, communication test and interpersonal communication test. These test help in analysing my personal communication style and the areas in which I can make improvements. Each tool has different levels that help in assessing the communication pattern of individuals. The Johari window helps to explore the areas that are known to an individual and the areas that require being explored by self and others. The second tool, the assertive communication tool analyses the ability to speak in public. The interactive psychological communication te st helps in providing insightfulness about the communication skills that exists (Thill Bove, 2013). The fourth communication tool, the communication test analysis certain characteristics of the individuals and the level required in the communication. The fifth tool, the interpersonal communication skills, helps to analyse the insightfulness of an individual. Based on the results of the analysis, it can be said that the different tools produced different results that help to analyse my communication style. After taking the Johari window test, I have seen that most of my personality trait is unknown to me and to others. These characteristics are required in order to have a perfect communication with people. Abilities such as being bold, dependable, loving and being relaxed help in maintaining proper communication with individuals. The facade side that is known to others is my caring, honesty and happy nature. According to Cardon, (2015), these characteristics are also required in order to maintain effective communication (Refer to appendix 1). The second test result shows that I have 66% ability to speak about self in front of others or while defending myself. It provides evidence that I remain hesitant to speak about my issues and tend to adjust to the situation that I remain. However, I also disclose my disagreement if I am unable to connect properly with the thoughts brought up by other people (Refer to appendix 2). The third result shoes that I have a 70% insightfulness meaning that I am able to interpret the thoughts and actions of people effectively. I even adjust my behaviour based on the person with whom I am communicating. This provides an empathic situation for the individuals (Refer to appendix 3). The fourth test result shows that my communication skill is the ability of thinkers. I give some thoughts to my actions or words. This makes me incapable of directing people about what needs to be done (Refer to appendix 4). The fifth test result identifies my interpersonal communication level as 60%. This implies that I may more attention to the messages sent to me rather than analysing the situation on a first-hand basis. My empathy characteristic also is addressed stating that I can be supportive to people in terms of needs (Refer to appendix 5). After analysing the results from the five communication tests, it can be said that my ability to speak to others need improvement. It has been seen that my ability to communicate with people in groups need improvement as I tend to become nervous and fail to express my thoughts in an accurate manner. I do not take responsibility for my actions and do not lead whenever people need my assistance. Due to my disability to speak freely with people, I am not a socialiser. I do not engage with people in order to get my work done. Thus, it is required that I manage to work on these skills and ensure that I manage to bring out my hidden characteristic in front of others. In order to analyse my situation, I can narrate two instances that can highlight the issues that I faced while communicating with people. The first issue that I need to focus is my ability to interact with others. This situation occurred about 6 months ago. While working in a team I had been given the responsibility to analyse the situation of the team and collect necessary feedback required for improving the coordination between the members. However, due to my inability to interact with people I failed to perform this task in an effective manner. This led to problems in the team, as I did not make other people feel comfortable working with me. Thus, the ability to develop my smartness is a necessary diagnosis that needs to be done. I even need to express my concerns regarding the issues that I face while working. The second issue that needs to be solved is my ability to understand the actions and words of a person. Based on the test results my insightfulness is about 70%, however, on one occasion I failed to understand the words spoken to me that led to the failure of team performance. I need to develop the insightfulness in order to understand the clarity of the words and tasks given to me. Due to my inability to understand, the task I was not able to help my team members in carrying out the activities required for completing the project. Thus, the ability to understand people and their thoughts is another skill that I need to develop. In order to do this, I need to be a good listener. Concept of communication and its issues According to Rentz Lentz, (2013), communication is the exchange of information by using convenient ways to express thoughts and feelings. This exchange of information can be in the form of verbal or non-verbal communication. In order to understand the necessary communication required for individual certain tools are developed that help in the analysis of the personal traits required for an individual. These communication tools are effective in highlighting the issues that an individual may develop while communicating with one another (Argenti, 2015). For example, the inability to communicate with people is a common issue that arises among an individual. This may lead to ineffective team interaction and may jeopardise any communication form of the individual. As stated by Peleckien Polajeva, (2016) the issue regarding communicating with people create a sense of depression among many individuals. Another issue that arises in among an individual is the fact that most people are not go od listeners. The ability to listen to people is an important aspect of communication (Chaney Martin, 2013). Proper listening of the problems of the people may lead an individual to provide an effective solution to the problems. Apart from this, the ability to develop a feeling of empathy is also essential in order to assist people and make proper communication. In order to develop these and ensure that the communication process is maintained certain models have developed that help in the smooth transaction of a message from one individual to another. Models related to communication Hampf Mller-Pohl, (2013) stated that in order to develop proper communication among different entities it is required that certain models are followed that help in the effective spreading of messages. One such model is the Schramms model, which segments different components of communication. The components of communication help in segregating the components that help in conducting communication. The sender sends the message required to be communicated in an encrypted manner (Carroll, 2015). The message is then decoded by the receiver and interpreted to the people. The medium of communicating the messages from one medium to another is done within the internal activities of an organisation. In this regard, it can be said that this model can be effective for individuals facing issues in communicating with other people. As observed by Austin Pinkleton, (2015) the model considers communication as a never-ending process that requires continuous interaction between people. Hence, the mode l proposed by Schramm can be considered as an effective mode of communicating with individuals. This can also help in developing listening skills as the messages sent by the sender are in the form of encryption that may require proper listening skills in order to decode the message. This is a continuous flow of message that is done from both ends in order to maintain stability in communication. However, Sadia et al., (2016) stated that Berlos model could also be used to maintain effective communication among individuals. Belos model states that communication skills are of vital importance in order to transmit a message from sender to receiver. This model is also called SMCR model in which every required factor for each component is analysed and the skills required for performing the factors are stated. Evans et al., (2017) stated the division of factors help in a proper analysis of the model. The sender transfers the message to the receiver in the forms of various channels. These channels are abstract objects that are required for proper communication. Some of the common factors that exist in the model are the fact that proper communication skill is required for the sending and receiving the message. In this regard, it can be said that the inability to communicate with other people and improper listening skill can affect the use of this model (Grunig, 2013). One of the important components of the communication model is the fact that the messages transferred from this model are content and consist of codes that are necessary for the effective working of an organisation. In this regard, it can be said that in order to develop personal communication skills, the use of this model can be effective (Fleisher Bensoussan, 2015). Hence, the practical implication of the model can be done on the individuals wanting to improve the ability to communicate with one another. The conceptual application of these models helps in developing an individual in terms of maintaining proper interpersonal communication with one another. Thus, Belos model can be used for developing interpersonal skills. Conceptual and behavioural skills needed In order to develop competence in the communication department, it is necessary that an individual apply theoretical as well as practical knowledge of the models. This can help the individuals to understand the areas needed for improvement. In the words of Popp, Raneburger Kaindl, (2013), the basis of communication is the listening skill of the individuals. The individuals have an opportunity to develop self-competence by applying the factors that can help in the understanding of the problems. In this regard, it can be said that in order to prevent any disruption in communication and solve issues, verbal and non-verbal communication is required (Tuna, Gulez Gungor, 2013). Another factor that affects the interpersonal communication model is the emotion of people. People with a strong emotional competence can develop proper communication because they may not be affected by any emotional outburst. It has also been evidenced that individuals with a proper listening skill are subject to excel in the communication department (Guidotti, 2013). One of the best methods of improving communication technique is to understand the demand of the people. Based on this understanding, an individual can develop communication competence and ensure that the issues related to communication are solved (Dozier, Grunig Grunig, 2013). The ability to listen and express proper thoughts helps in the development of interpersonal communication and maintains the effectiveness of the individuals. After analysing the issues in my communication, I have formulated an action plan that can help me to improve my communication skills. The action plan is based on the issues that I have encountered and the ways by which I can rectify these issues. In order to execute the plan in a proper manner, I have started to maintain a journal that records every activity that I undertake in the course of my rectification. This journal can be useful for me in order to reflect upon the ways by which I have managed to improve myself over the course of time. I have set a timeline for myself to develop my communication skills. Within 6 months, I aim to address my issues and ensure that I become capable of managing any communication-related problems that arise. In order to ensure that I am guided in a proper manner, I have sought the help of a mentor. He is a professional in terms of coaching people in developing proper communication skills. I have sought the help of Peter Dhu, a Diploma holder in Professional Coaching. He has over 20 years of experience in training people who suffer from communication issues. I aim to undertake an eight-week training programme under him to help me overcome the issues that I face while communicating with others and listening to others. The advice provided by him can be valuable in order to improve my communication skills and develop a stable career in the future. I have also started to read books involving various models, theories and case studies related to communication. I have managed to search for books such as Active listening 101: How to turn down your volume to turn up your communication skill written by Emilia Hardman, 2012. "The Power of communication skills to build trust, inspire loyalty and lead effectively" written by Helio Fred Garcia, 2012. "Power Listening: Mastering the most critical business skill" written by Bernard, T. Ferrari, 2012. These books have helped me to understand the effectiveness of communication and the ways by which it can be used effectively to develop skills. Participating in evaluating communication courses can also help in developing communication skills. The courses undertaken by me include Diploma in Communication Management courses, Skills on managing people effectively using communication techniques. These courses can help me to develop my communication skills, as I would be under experienced guides. The experience of the teachers can help me to understand my problems more clearly (Refer to Appendix 6 for gnat chart). It can be concluded that the report helped me to understand my communication abilities. The issues that I have in speaking to people and listening to the problems of the people have been brought in focus by completing this report. The models and concept identified in communication can be related to the issues that I face. Examining The Importanceof Key Performance Indicators Construction Essay The Latham Report, also known as Constructing the Team was published by Sir Michael Latham in 1994 to highlight the inefficiencies of UK construction industry at that time. The industry was underperforming as a whole, generating low profitability and unable to meet clients satisfaction. Latham Report served as a wake-up call for the nation and underlined the immediate need to reform. Sir John Egan picked up from where Latham left off and published the Egan Report, also known as Rethinking Construction in 1998. Egan Report (1998) identified five key drivers of change which are committed leadership, a focus on the customer, integrated processes and teams, a quality driven agenda and commitment to people. Sir John Egan also challenged the industry to reduce its construction cost and time by 10% annually. Egan Report concluded that, if the UK construction industry is to meet new challenges and opportunities, it must transform itself, and KPIs were highlighted as a tool for attaining this (Cooper, 2004). The first set of UK Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) was published in 1999 with three main objectives (Constructing Excellence, 2006): Key Performance Indicators can be rather confusing to those who have little knowledge in business management. It is believed that the benefits of KPIs are yet to be fully exploited by the construction industry ever since the publication of Egan Report. KPIs are not new to the industry but they are either not recognised or kept away by the management teams (Parmenter, 2007). Nowadays, the term KPIs has become one of the most over-used and little understood terms in business development and management (Ibis, 2010). According to KPIs expert David Parmenter, KPIs represent a set of measures focusing on those aspects of organisational performance that are the most critical for the current and future success of the organisation (Parmenter, 2004). When used correctly, KPIs are able to tell an organisation what to do to improve performance dramatically. However, the organisation can only succeed when the company leaders and staff are all together focusing on KPIs. Each business industry has a different set of KPIs for companies to use to measure their success. In the construction industry, companies use indicators such as the number of safety incidents in a specified time period, profitability of construction projects or reviewing cost of construction materials against the predetermined budget (Vitez, 2010). Cox et al. (2003) state that KPIs are compilations of data measures used to assess the performance of a construction operation. They also state that KPIs could be the methods management uses to evaluate employee performance of a particular task. These evaluations typically compare the actual and estimated performance in terms of effectiveness, efficiency, and quality in terms of both workmanship and product. In order to measure performance or calculate the effects of any given change on the construction process, one must first determine the appropriate KPIs to focus on to measure its impact (Cox et al., 2003). Performance indicators can be defined by either the quantitative results of a construction process, for example  £/unit, or by qualitative measures such as worker behaviour on the job. Accurate analysis of construction performance can be only performed after the KPIs are determined and monitored (Cox et al., 2003). Before any Key Performance Indicators are determined, it is vital to identify what the organisations goal is (Visitask, 2010). After the goals are identified, KPIs will act as a measure of progress towards those goals. Whatever the KPIs may be, they must be critical to the success of the organisation (Reh, 2010). After the KPIs have been defined and the way to measure it has also been determined, a clear target has to be demarcated which should be understandable by everyone in the organisation (Visitask, 2010). The target should also be specific so that every individual are able to work together towards accomplishing it. To achieve a particular target level of Key Performance Indicator for a company, every department along with the company leaders have to work in synergy towards it (Visitask, 2010). In short, KPIs help an organisation define and measure progress toward organisational goals. Once an organisation has analysed its mission, identified all its stakeholders, and defined its goals, it needs a way to measure progress toward those goals and KPIs are those measurements (Reh, 2010). Measuring performance allows an organisation to objectively determine what is working and what is not (Ling and Peh, 2005). There are many ways to use KPIs in the business and industry. According to Constructing Excellence (2006), the main ways that KPIs are used in the construction industry are: CIPFA (1996) describes benchmarking as a tool for self improvement. It suggests that organisations are often prompted to use benchmarking when they want to reduce cost, achieve more with the same or fewer resources, prepare for competitive tendering, improve quality of service, or change culture of the organisation. Benchmarking can be used in a host of ways. For example a company can compare its performance internally, by benchmarking processes in one office against the same processes in another; or it can undertake similar work externally by examining how it compares with its direct competitors (Pickrell and Garnett, 1997). When choosing a target for benchmarking, it is best to benchmark similar organisations in the same industry, in similar marketplaces, of a similar size and if possible, working in a similar locality. Such an approach provides not only more meaningful and focused targets for improvement, but also data and more general information about what competitors are achiev ing (Cooper, 2004). However, sometimes it is necessary to go beyond the sphere of ones own industry to identify the best practice in the business (McGeorge and Palmer, 1997). KPIs are a type of performance measurement tool. It allows management to measure the performance of a company in a certain area such as profitability. KPIs can help a team to work together to achieve a common set of measurable goals, and provide a very quick way of seeing the actual performance of a goal or strategic objective (RapidBI, 2009). According to Constructing Excellence (2006), KPIs can also be used as a marketing tool. For example, Contractors can use KPIs to prove that they have excellent safety records to promote themselves in front of clients when tendering. Besides, KPIs can help companies to make decisions quicker when there are accurate and visible measures to back them up (RapidBI, 2009). In the construction industry, KPIs help managers to find weak areas in their operations that can be improved, leading to faster construction completion times and fewer employee safety incidents (Vitez, 2010). Moreover, constructions companies who use KPIs in their operations usuall y have more flexible operations than their competitors (Vitez, 2010). Although not realised by many people, KPIs actually play a part in providing sustainable construction. There are environmental KPIs that measure impact on the environment, energy use, waste, and impact on biodiversity which are all crucial to sustainability. Benchmarking can provide an objective analysis of how successful an organisation is performing and allows a company to identify its position in the market (Ling and Peh, 2005). By benchmarking against best practice in the industry, one can identify potential areas of growth or weaknesses and use lessons learnt to make targeted improvements. In long run, companies who benchmark will be able to deliver clients expectations and increase clients satisfaction. Besides, benchmarking can help to lock an organisation into continuous performance improvement, and to develop a culture in which it is easier to admit mistakes and make changes (CIPFA, 1996). Pickrell and Garnett (1997) claim that benchmarking can help to reduce overheads and increase profitability of a company. It also enables companies to really understand their business processes. The most important thing of all about benchmarking is that it allows better companies to demonstrate that they are capable of delivering good services and products, thus developing a barrier to the poorer performers in the market. Transformative Learning in Adulthood A defining condition of being human is that we have to understand the meaning of our experience. For some, any uncritically assimilated explanation by an authority figure will suffice. But in contemporary societies we must learn to make our own interpretations rather than act on the purposes, beliefs, judgments, and feelings of others. Facilitating such understandings is the cardinal goal of adult education. Transformative learning develops autonomous thinking. (Mezirow 1997, p. 5) Since first introduced by Jack Mezirow in 1978, the concept of transformative learning has been a topic of research and theory building in the field of adult education (Taylor 1998). Although Mezirow is considered to be the major developer of transformative learning theory, other perspectives about transformative learning--influenced by the work of Robert Boyd--are emerging. Following a discussion of transformative learning as conceptualized by Mezirow, this Digest describes research and theory building by Robert Boyd and its influence on current perspectives of transformative learning. Some suggestions for fostering transformative learning conclude the Digest. Mezirow and Transformative Learning The theory of transformative learning that has been developed by Mezirow during the past 2 decades has evolved "into a comprehensive and complex description of how learners construe, validate, and reformulate the meaning of their experience" (Cranton 1994, p. 22). Centrality of experience, critical reflection, and rational discourse are three common themes in Mezirows theory (Taylor 1998), which is based on psychoanalytic theory (Boyd and Myers 1988) and critical social theory (Scott 1997). For learners to change their "meaning schemes (specific beliefs, attitudes, and emotional reactions)," they must engage in critical reflection on their experiences, which in turn leads to a perspective transformation (Mezirow 1991, p. 167). "Perspective transformation is the process of becoming critically aware of how and why our assumptions have come to constrain the way we perceive, understand, and feel about our world; changing these structures of habitual expectation to make possible a more inclusive, discriminating, and integrating perspective; and, finally, making choices or otherwise acting upon these new understandings" (ibid.). Perspective transformation explains how the meaning structures that adults have acquired over a lifetime become transformed. These meaning structures are frames of reference that are based on the totality of individuals cultural and contextual experiences and that influence how they behave and interpret events (Taylor 1998). An individuals meaning structure will influence how she chooses to vote or how she reacts to women who suffer physical abuse, for example.

A cross represents many things to different people. Some view it as simply a‘t’. For others, it is their way of life. Many in America feel this way. A cross is the main symbol for Christianity, and as Christianity is the main religion in America, it can be considered a symbol of American culture. A cross is more than just a t-shaped piece of wood. A cross is the representative symbol of American culture. One morning, a long while ago, there was a man. This was before crosses had the present day meaning. He was to be crucified on a wood-shaped t contraption.It was called a cross. Forwarding to the present day, when most people think of or hear the word cross, they think of a battered old wood piece that is in the shape of a lower case t. While that is generally what a cross will come in, it can take the form of many things. It can be made of metal, wood, plastic, cardboard, or even by crossing one’s fingers. A cross can be fancy, new, battered, or old. No matter th e look of it, though, the cross always seems the same in the hearts and minds of those who cherish it.Perhaps the most thought provoking image of a cross is when Christ is on it, nails in his feet and hands, with a pierced wound in his side, his head bowed to heaven. The cross is both a symbol of happiness and sadness. One of the main reasons that pilgrims and settlers came over to the future site of the great United States of America was to avoid religious persecution in their homelands. America was the place of all things new and reborn, and what better way to practice their outcast religions. Most of the religions, however, shared one thing in common: they were all Christian-based religions.They just had different ways of practicing how to worship their Lord, Savior, and God. Being in the church-run country of England, however, was difficult because of these different practices. They united and came under the banner of one object, the cross. Many people view the cross as excludin g and not open to everyone everywhere. This is far from the truth. The cross accepts any and all who wish to worship under it and be one with the rest of the Christian nation. Those that pervert the word and message of the cross and its religion aren’t the true bearers of Jesus’ word and message.Sometimes the cross is perceived as a bat that beats the message into your head and does physical damage to them. This is far from the truth. A cross is like a pillow, that can be snuggled and used for friendly pillow fights, but it always comforts when it is needed. A cross needs to be thought less of as an animate object, and more of an inanimate object that encompasses a broad scope of items. One of these objects could be considered a pen and quill. When the founding fathers of the United States assembled in Philadelphia, they penned the words â€Å"endowed by their Creator. While Creator can have a broad variety of meanings depending on background, upbringing, and current value system, one can infer the implied meaning of what that statement was supposed to mean. America had religious upbringings. If it wasn’t for religion, America could possibly not be here today, or not be as successful as it is. The pilgrims could have stayed in England and Mainland Europe, and America may not have been settled until a much later date. In current times, many will argue that the cross is an obsolete and inaccurate representation of American culture.While it is true that church attendance and overall religiousness of the country is going down, the greater majority, even ones who don’t attend church on a regular basis, still view the cross as a symbol of greater things. It symbolizes the resolve of the American people. When in doubt, they look up, hoping for a sign of greater things to come. A cross may not be as fancy as a tasseled flag, or as popular as a roaring lion, but do those items have a deeper meaning to it? Americans have never been about bei ng the fanciest, or being the best.Americans care about what is important to them, and they fight for it. Present day fights to keep the cross and other Christian-related materials are a constant effort. Many should re-read the Declaration of Independence, and see the word Creator. It may refresh and jog their memories. The cross is one of the symbols of the American culture. Religion plays a large part in many lives in the country, and this is a representation of that. Perhaps if more people come under the wings of the cross, America can be great again.

Both boys had been raised in similar settings of a two parent home, average income, and raised in a demographically rural community. These boys have had equal opportunities in the educational system of supportive parents and teachers and after school programs. Intellectually both boys have the ability to succeed in school. This tale of two Southeastern Idaho boys, and of millions of children just like them, raises the question of why some students educationally excel and others do not. If both boys in this scenario have the same opportunities, the same environmental settings, and the same level of intelligence then why will one excel and the other not? Research has shown that motivation reasons, such as fear of failure, incuriosity, and lack of ambition, can cause low classroom achievement. Have you ever been so afraid of failing at something that you decided not to try it at all? Or has fear of failure meant that, subconsciously, you undermined your own efforts to avoid the possibility of a larger failure. Many of us have probably experienced this at one time or another. The fear of failure can immobilize – it can cause us to do nothing, and therefore resist moving forward. But when we allow fear to stop our forward progress in life, we are likely to miss great opportunities along the way. According to the Reiss Motivational Profile, fear of failure in the number one reason for low achievement in school. Students that display this fear of failure often feel that failure hurts less if they don’t try to succeed. Signs that a student may have a fear of failure are a reluctance to try new things or get involved in challenging projects, procrastination, and low self-esteem or self-confidence. We have defined the emotion and identified the symptoms, now how can we help overcome. Students with fear of failure may be at their best when parents and teachers stand behind them and encourage them. Positive encouraging words and actions are observed and taken in. Students will respond if the classroom atmosphere is uplifting and rewarding. Students should be made aware that in everything they do, there’s always a chance that they will fail. Facing that chance, and embracing it, is not only courageous, but it gives them a fuller, more rewarding life. According to Steven Reiss incuriosity scored as the second motivational reason why students have low achievement is school. In the Merriam-Webster dictionary incuriosity is define as lacking a normal or usual curiosity: uninterested. Students in school seem to regulate how much thinking they do. Some need to think a lot, these students need many interests to satisfy their high need for intellect. Others aim to think very little. It is not just one or two topics they hate thinking about, they just dont like to think for any length of time. At least, that is what they say and how they behave. These school children need many practical activities to gratify their need to minimize thinking. They hate school because it makes them do something [think] they dont want to do for longer than a few minutes at a time. Teachers need a general sense of how long each individual student needs to think versus how long he/she needs to rest from thinking. Incurious pupils enjoy thinking for below-average periods of time and need long periods of rest. Teachers should break down the material into small bites and to give emphasis to the practical application of the curriculum. Lack of ambition was rated number three for motivational reason why students have low achievement in school. Lack of ambition is defined in the Merriam-Webster dictionary as absence of the desire to strive toward achievement. For students in school, it manifests as an inability to consistently take action toward goals – or even the inability to create goals in the first place! Without accepting full responsibility for the direction of their life, students will not be able to commit to a plan of action, and will ultimately remain sitting on the fence. These students find it easy to blame people and situations for their failure to move forward in life. Students can be motivated differently for a variety of reasons, from age to culture to special needs. Teachers will need to incorporate various scenarios. Some motivations might work better than another or a combination of the two is a better approach. Individual students respond differently, some may respond to tangible rewards, stickers, and praise. Motivation for others will be a sense of accomplishment, responsibility, and pride. The tale of the two junior high boys in Southeast Idaho illustrates the role that fear of failure, incuriosity, and lack of ambition plays in low achievement at school. She then leaves leaving his heart entirely taken with love for her. She then proceeds to the Kazi of that city to present her case. The woman leaks of cunningness and goes ahead to protest the arrest of the lad, but this time, she says it’s her brother. Sure of her capabilities to mesmerize men, she airs her complaints and as expected, the Kazi casts his eyes on her and falls in love with her, even offering that he would, out of his purse, pay the fine imposed on the woman’s brother. On the request that she comes in, she gives him a date in a place and at a time the same as with the magistrate. She then goes to the Wazir, The king, and a carpenter, doing the same charm and tricking all of them to cooperate to have the youth released.  Ã‚

They have recently acquired new locations in Malaysia and South Korea in July and August. He also serves on the board of Directors of the Fashion Institute of Technology Educational Foundation the Fashion Delivers \Charitable Foundation Incorporated, and the National Father’s Day Committee. Previously Ms. Dunn held several executive positions with Thomson Financial, including Executive Vice President, Human Resources and Organizational Development. Ms. Dunn is also a consulting Advisory Board member of Youth, I.N.C. She also has a Bachelors of Science Degree in Human Sciences from University College, London, U.K. and a Masters Degree in Information Science from City University, London. (Coach est. 1941, 2010) Lastly, we have Jane Nielsen the executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer since 2011. Jane Nielsen joined Coach after working at PepsiCo, Incorporated and the Global Nutrition Group as their Senior Vice President and Chief Financial Officer since 2009. Prior to this Ms. Nielsen held senior positions in a financial role with PepsiCo, Incorporated, and Pepsi Bottling Group from 1996-2009. From 1990-1996 Ms. Nielsen worked for Marakon Associates and from 1986-1990 she worked at Credit Suisse First Boston. Ms. Nielsen has a BA in Economics from Smith College and an M.B.A. from Harvard Business School. (Coach est. 1941, 2010) Coach has recently been awarded $257 million in a lawsuit against counterfeit Coach merchandise. Coach obtained a default judgment in Illinois Federal Court against individuals and businesses that operate websites selling counterfeit Coach merchandise. The judgment granted Coach 573 internet domain names from which the counterfeit merchandise was sold from. Coach started a litigation campaign called â€Å"Operation Turnlock† in May 2009. Since then, Coach has filed lawsuits to stop counterfeit items from being sold. From these lawsuits, Coach has gain a significant amount of monetary value from them. (Chaudhuri , 2012) Coach also just donated $2 million to the Hurricane Sandy relief efforts. The gift was made to the Red Cross Disaster Relief Fund for rebuilding efforts in the Tri-State area. Coach as also made its employee matching program available, so however much its employees contribute to the American Red Cross Disaster Relief Fund or to other qualified funds, Coach will match the donation Lew Frankfort made a public address saying â€Å"Our hearts go out to the countless number of people affected by the storm.† Since Coach was established in Manhattan, they feel they need to help rebuild their community where they started. (Coach est. 1941, 2010) In 2011 Coach’s Inventory broke down to 63% handbags, 27% accessories, and 10% all other products. This is just a little change from the previous year, where the only difference is 1% moved from accessories to all other products. Currently Coach pays quarterly cash dividends of $0.225 per share. Coach’s cash flow statement shows Net Income for 2011 to be $880,800,000 and the net cash flows provided by operating activities in 2011to be $1,033,271,000. Also, the cash flow statement shows the net cash used in investing activities to be -$59,631,000 and the net cash used in financing activities to be -$875,126,000 in 2011. For the Cash and cash equivalents at end of year 2011 were $699,782,000 with the cash paid for income taxes for 2011 to be $364,493,000 and cash paid for interest for 2011 to be $1,233,000. Lastly, the cash flow statement has for 2011 is the noncash investing activity-property and equipment obligations to be $23,173,000 and $0 for the noncash financing ac tivity-mortgage debt assumed.(http://www.annualreports.com/company/2246 , 2011) Coach just reported its first quarter earnings per share in 2012 to be $0.77. Compared to the previous year, same quarter, the earnings per shares was $0.73. Their sales reported for 2012 first quarter, which ended September 29, 2012, was $1.16 billion. Compared to the previous year where Coach’s sales for the same quarter was only $1.05 billion. This is an 11% increase in sales in just one year. Coach also announced that its Board of Directors has just authorized the repurchase of up to $1.5 billion of its outstanding common stock by June 30,2015. This will make Coach’s earnings per share increase since there will be less outstanding stock. Since we now know the earning per share for Coach we can calculate the price earnings ratio. Coach’s current stock price $57.87. So, Coach’s price earnings ratio is 75.156. (Coach est. 1941, 2010) Stockholder’s equity is total assets minus total liabilities. For Coach, in 2011 the total assets are $2,635,116,000 and the total liabilities are $1,022,547,000. So, the total stockholder’s equity for the year ended July 2, 2011 is $1,612,569,000. For the total liabilities of Coach being $1,022,547,000 only $593,017,000 are current liabilities. Of the current liabilities $118,612,000 is accounts payable, $473,610,000 is accrued liabilities, and $795,000 is current portion of the long term debt. As for the rest of the liabilities $23,360,000 is long term debt and $406,170,000 is other liabilities. (Coach est. 1941, 2010) These numbers first mean that Coach is a continuously growing company that would be labeled at a value company. Which means it doesn’t grow fast, but instead it grows consistently. Also, since its assets and equities make up the majority of Coach’s finances the company appears to be in good standings. Coach is a company that has been around for over 70 years and has been traded publicly for 12 years now, and it seems to have all its finances in order and look like what you would expect for a high-end retail company. There is a bright future for Coach with its experienced executives leading the company to expand its market and try to bet out the competition. The volatility of Coach stock price is reasonable. Obviously people are willing to pay for Coach products even through hard times. Coach’s stock price continues to go up and from past records it has always steadily increased. Coach has a rich history and has been around for a long time so I do not see it crashing anytime in the near future, so I would say the stock price is valid and a good steady long term investment.
